The following is third in a tutorial series preparing the striker with punches to add to their footwork and upperbody evasive movements.This does not include elbows,backfist or hammerfists.Once these ten punches are learned,one will be able to learn how to become imaginative and free to build a great shadow boxing routine.

I like to keep my punches high so it automatically hikes my shoulder to
guard my jaw. What do you think about that ? I keep my elbows a bit high
for punches this helps me cover me hike my shoulders to my jaw

When I prepared for my matches I did 10rnds each day mon-sat with sunday off.No matter if I sparred,did pad work,bag work or shadow boxed,i did 10 rnds of 3 minute punching.I remember my coach wanted to test my spirit and make me quit while preparing for my 2nd boxing match.We did 20 rounds of 3 minutes,with 1 minute rest.When we got to the 10th round I finished with my sparring partner who had alternated with live sparring, with my coach holding pads every second round.IHe then held pads and we did not rest,we kept going threw the rest bell.When he… Read more »
