How do you increase flexibility for better kicking

Question. I have good flexibility, as I have absolutely no problems
throwing high roundhouse kicks with both legs upstairs. But when I try
this, I am having trouble getting my leg up. Its not cramping, and I
stretch before I kick, so I don’t think its a flexibility issue. Maybe
something wrong in my technique? Anyone have any advice?

well i have the same probleme, i have no probleme throwing very hightroundhouse kicks or tornado roundhouse kicks, but with this spining hook kick , i have troubles controling my leg and not throwing a big wheel kick, i think you should try it slowly step by step  remember to keep your body straight and turn your body and shoulders and look before you kick, that what seems to work for me

Try dropping your shoulders, and if you have to you can touch the ground, but only when learning, if you can touch the ground when you kick, that's when you know you're doing it right.
