Muay Thai Kickboxing Portland – Thai Timing Series – Right Kick-Fake to Left Uppercut

Check out our video series on our Muay Thai Timing Drills with Professor Jeff Patterson and Khun Kru Daniel Tran!

Timing is one of the most important factors in a Muay Thai practitioner's game. It gives them the ability to see an opening, and take it as a chance to engage on their opponent. Once form and technique have been taught, these drills are showed and are practiced by students consistently throughout their training.

Each drill starts out the same with a Right Kick and then to a Fake. The opponent blocks the first Kick, and then is fooled by the Fake to help simulate the feel of how to time each technique.

In this video, the Fake is followed up with a Left Uppercut. The Left Uppercut can have a lot of momentum after the Fake because of how the body and hips are angled afterwards. The body is shifted back and forth almost like a pair of scissors, and the Uppercut builds up all that energy behind it, straight into the opponent.

Enjoy the video and be sure to check out our other videos in this series and our other series as well!
