wouldn’t work id personally wrap my legs around them and stay tight with my
left arm not allowing you to move out

Thats just silly, learn to play in the HalfGuard postion. I use uit all the
time in MMA where punches are thrown. Seems alot of people esp wrestlers
have a very good base in FullGuard and its so much easier to disrupt their
base and sweep in Half.
