This version of the technique addresses a common problem people encounter when attempting the Upa: the opponent hooking their "free" leg. While the version shown here is used when the opponent puts his hand in your collar, the principles of how to avoid having your free leg hooked, can be applied to other versions of the Upa as well (e.g. when the opponent is hugging your neck).REMEMBER… In Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, there are always multiple "correct" ways to execute technique. It is not always necessary –or even possible– to replicate the exact same set of steps, in order to apply a particular move in sparring. As such, techniques are probably better viewed more as a general framework, rather than a precise blueprint. Ultimately, techniques themselves are just one "take" on a particular moment in time. They're not laws about what MUST be done, but rather simply ideas about what CAN be done.http://tsunamibjj.com/ Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school in Torrance, also serving: Carson, Hawthorne, Harbor City, Long Beach, Dominguez Hills, San Pedro, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach.

I’m still new to jiu jitsu. I’ve been training for 4 months. Can you do a
video on high mount escape, when you have time of course? thanks. :)
