Not a useless technique at all, i got caught in similar situation before.
Definitely not a useless technique. It’s very common to load a guy up on
your feet the way Braga shows when the passer has his weight very far
forward. Most people I see who do this look to sweep from here (or at least
create a scramble to fight for the top position) but if you’re in a
desperate situation and need a submission quickly then this armbar is a
great one to go for.
Well handled jake. He showed a fancy and almost useless technique and with
the simple “what would you do to counter it” question he showed a more
realistic one. Everyone knows he’d never go for that armbar on competition
