Advanced Half Guard Passing: Capoeira Pass (version 1)

44

This the first of 2 parts on the Capoeira Pass. While we have our version on our channel, this is another variation that Eddie does. This is a great video because it also talks about trouble shooting it!

For those asking why is this called the capoeira sweep its because he
rolled into the negativa which is a exculsive capoeira move. Many ppl dont
know that capoeira has just as many grappling moves as it has strikes,
thats why u see some many bjj schools embrace capoeira and make vids
showing how simular they are. Bjj actually borrows alot from capoeira.
Theres even rumors that the gracies lost to capoeiristas and thats why no
vids ever surfaced because the gracies destroyed the evidence.

+Meta Meech a big reason why most martial arts have joint locks and grappling moves is that they were developed for war and warriors wore armor, making most strike relatively useless. +Meta Meech the capoeristas use head buts  and hand strikes as well as the grappling moves and kicks if you see angoleros play you get to see more head buts, tesoura and other grappling moves but hand strikes are consider foulpay.

Orangeiceice12 aaaaahhhhhhhh! U know that! Ur the first person on youtube to know that chinese martial arts are both striking and grappling arts to. I used to have to tell bjj fans all the time about shuai jiao, yang style tai chi, ba gua zhang. And so on. I trained in chinese arts all my life before gave it up for capoeira.

+Meta MeechTai Chi and Wudang are grappling styles as well; the basic wuji stance is just like a sprawl, only standing up.
