Maybe 10 years ago, but even in his prime I don’t think Rickson could hold
a candle to Roger now. That’s no fault of his, its just that BJJ has
evolved so much since then, its like comparing Babe Ruth to Barry Bonds. So
many people working so hard at it for so many years have really raised the
bar from Rickson’s day, when very few people had a clue what they were
doing.

BJJ match of the day is from the 2006 World Championship between Roger
Gracie and Robert Drysdale. Roger is the greatest BJJ competitor ever,
winning the World BJJ Championship 14, yes 14 times, 10 at blackbelt. He
won double gold (weight and Absolute) every year from 2007-2010 (except for
2008). His top pressure game in 2nd to none and has an absolute mastery of
the Fundamentals, which he shows in his matches. He makes it looks easy in
this one against Drysdale, who is awesome as well, a 2005 World Champion,
an ADCC Absolute Champion and 2x World Cup Champion.
