This sweep variation is one of the most powerful sweeps I have ever encountered and it plays well as a combination threat off of the lapel feed armbar. Many of the small details that make this move successful are the same as the previous video. Keep in mind that the setup is key! Make sure that when trapping your opponents arm with their lapel that you feed under the hand on the hip and enter with a thumbs down grip over the elbow. When tightening down this position it comes from dropping your elbow to your hip, not from pulling the arm across. After you have trapped the arm it is important to move your hips into the pocket. Make it a full body motion and not just a brute force movement of moving your opponents arm across your center line.Once you have moved your hips out it is very common for your opponent to readjust their base. This will make it difficult for you to come out on your opponents back sometimes. When that is the case make sure that you maintain control of that lapel that is trapping the arm. Then you will feed it around your opponents head and control it with your other hand. This can be tricky as the length of your opponents lapel and your hand positioning on the lapel will play a large role in wither or not you are easily able to obtain this grip. This will be something that is adjusted and accounted for as you learn the move (that means rep this out!).Once that hand is behind the head you need to keep the controlling arms elbow tucked in. It is VERY important that you do not let your opponent duck their head under the lapel. If they do get their head out you lose all of the power, and the chances of your opponent letting you do that again are slim to none.Once you have that power grip you will take your free hand and control on the outside of your opponents pants. At this point you should have one of the most powerful sweeps set up. Turn your hips like you're doing a pendulum sweep and tuck your elbow (the one with the lapel being held) and pull it to the floor. Once you feel your opponents body contort it is time to lift with the grip on the outside of the pants because they will be light. Once you get the sweep it is important to maintain control of that grip behind the head. There are all sorts of really mean things that we can do with it!
