I love this. I am a white belt and I got 1 purple belt with this. I also
made 2 different purple belts and a blue belt struggle but not tap with
this technique. You showed me a few details like the placement of the
sleeve and the placement of the foot to finish the choke. Thank you so
much. I will try to use this at my next tournament.

What are the best ways to prevent this from happening when you have someone
in your half-guard? Staying active with your half-guard? … It happened to
me in a tournament and sometimes during training.

@arctrooper86 It can be both. You usually want to try and get the blade of
the top hand over the windpipe onto the opposite carotid artery. Then the
choke comes on from from the blade/forearm of one arm on the carotid and
the gi on the other. However, if you can’t get the hand over far enough it
does become a pretty nasty windpipe choke.
