Mount Escape Hip Escape

11

Another basic Mount escape that focuses on fundamental hip movement. When doing this techniques it's important to remember that the power comes from the hips (like many of the other videos that I have posted) and not from pushing with the arms.Remember to straighten the correct leg (see video for details) and get to your side as soon as possible. If you have trouble getting your leg back through to compose full guard remember to move stretch or arch your back. This will give more space for your leg to clear the hips.

Nice refresher, haven’t trained in a while (injuries) and am gonna drill
the basics again. And.. haha @ ‘oh no! Life is terrible!’ when he mounts
you 😀 Whenever I’m put on my back and I look up… I just see dark clouds
forming!

The more you train the more comfortable you will become even when you're in bad positions.  Having a foundation of strong basics will really take you a long way in this sport!
