Ricardo De La Riva – DLR Sweep V 2.1 – BJJ Weekly #075

25

http://www.bjjweekly.comOne common defense against last weeks DLR sweep is for your opponent to move forward and stuff the sweep. Watch how De La Riva brings his hook back and comes across his opponents hips to finish the sweep to the opposite side. Try drilling the first sweep and this one together till it becomes smooth.

I use something very similar to this all the time. It is just one option,
but the concept is actually very sound.

Im gonna assume that it’d be tough to get on the scramble after the sweep
happens. but at the same time maybe durin the scramble you get the armbar.
But if u end up like he does at 1:36 – the only way is to clear the left
leg immediately and shoot the hips in as u pull on the sleeve to get the
arm trapped. so basically an 70/30 chance of not gettin the arm from that.
