but essentially the locks are the same. In judo “armlocks” and “armbars”
are generic terms for joint locking the arm with the Japanese term being
used for the specific technique. Also, you know that the Kimura
(ude-garami) is named after the great judo fighter Masahiko Kimura, yes?
