your uppercut looks like an arm punch. leaning the shoulders will actually increase the power of the uppercut as the closer your shoulders and hips are moving on the same plane as the punch, the more power you will achieve. watch any fighter known for their power uppercuts, eg mike tyson. he will always lean his body so his hips and shoulders are rotating on a plane as close to the trajectory of the punch as possible in order to maximize the hip and shoulder rotation in the punch and minimise the arm punch. at the moment looks like 90%… Read more »

Thanks for the feedback mxq88!There are two different styles of uppercuts. Some fighters are always taught to tilt their shoulders and others are taught to use a type, sometimes called t-frame, where the shoulders stay parallel to the ground. I prefer the second type (type explained in video) and use it in many different ways: After I slip the jab, shoulder roll against the right hand, pull away against the right hand, after I block their left body shot and other times as well.I do tilt my shoulder if I'm in very close to land the uppercut.
