If Octavius is still reading this thread, I think that there’s a massive
distinction between judo and BJJ. Having done both I can say that they
focus on different aspects of the game. Modern Judo is now more adapted to
competition whereas BJJ is still relatively raw and although wins can be
achieved by points the name of the game is to put your opponent in a
situation where they can “finish” a fight. I stand to be corrected but my
